Portfolio/Dream diary app
A dream diary app that logs your dreams every night, and a site as dreamy as the product.
The process
01 · We met
We met Auldrom through networking. A designer friend of our owner saw the app and loved the concept, so while we were working on Auldrom's website, they spent several days on a design of their own. We ended up using most of it.
02 · The product
Auldrom is a dream diary: you log your dreams every night. A specially trained AI summarises each dream and reads back what it could mean psychologically. It's a well-educated theory, never a diagnosis. The plan is to ask about your day too, so the app can connect what you lived with what you dreamed. Auldrom is working toward partnerships with sleep researchers, dream doctors and astrologists to bring in as many signals as possible.
03 · Design
Our friend designed the atmosphere: constellations, 3D parallax and stars, at their best in the dark theme. Our owner designed the light theme and added the phone screens and the visual animations. Auldrom loved it. Simple, but visually stunning, especially in the dark.
04 · Build
We wanted dark as the default. We chose to follow the visitor's system setting instead, with a switch: you never want to blind someone with a light screen in the dark, or hand them a dark one in bright sunlight.
05 · Today
Auldrom is working on its own brand for now. We loved working with them, and we expect to again.
